Jesús Casique Denounces Smear Campaign and Demands Respect for His Family’s Integrity

The Venezuelan economist publicly rejects false accusations, identifies those responsible, and calls for ethical journalism amid ongoing defamation efforts.

Venezuelan economist and public affairs analyst Jesús Casique has issued a public statement denouncing a sustained smear campaign targeting him, his son, and his family. In a formal communication addressed to the public, relevant authorities, and media outlets, Casique directly names Gerardo Gil Dams (@ggild1983) as the main individual behind these defamatory actions.

Baseless Accusations and Digital Manipulation

According to Casique, Gil Dams has spent the past seven years attempting to falsely associate him with an alleged criminal network purportedly led by Tulio Capriles Mendoza and other individuals. He claims this effort has been carried out through a web of digital portals and social media accounts, including @noticolorado_ (allegedly managed by “Tulito” Hernández) and @resistencia_news (reportedly run by Gustavo Lainette), which have been used to spread misinformation, attack political adversaries, and seek personal or financial gain.

Casique categorically denies any connection to these platforms, asserting that he has never owned, authored, or been affiliated with them. He also notes that Gil Dams recently removed several of these websites—possibly in an attempt to avoid legal consequences.

“These platforms have even been used to extort individuals such as Waldo Rujano and a former Venezuelan Supreme Court magistrate—without my knowledge, involvement, or consent,” Casique stated.

Threats and False Allegations

Casique revealed that he was pressured to disseminate defamatory content involving Ambassador Gladys Gutiérrez and citizens Mario and Morris Villarroel in connection with an alleged inheritance dispute. He firmly rejected those requests and has since been wrongfully linked to the publications.

In an effort to clarify his position, Casique contacted Morris Villarroel Sierralta directly to affirm his complete disassociation from Tulio Capriles Mendoza and to identify Gerardo Gil Dams as the person orchestrating the manipulation. Nevertheless, shortly thereafter, he was targeted in a defamatory and threatening video uploaded to YouTube by Wender Enrique Villalobos Padrón, a man with a documented criminal record.

“The video not only defames me but also issues direct threats against my son in an effort to coerce our political alignment. I have no affiliation with any of the figures they seek to impose on us,” Casique said.

He further clarified that he has no relationship—past or present—with Miguel Henrique Otero, Antonieta Jurado, or anyone close to them. He also stated that the private lives of Valeria Villalobos and Indiana Droz are of no concern to him and are entirely unrelated to the matter at hand.

Call for Ethical Journalism

Casique made a strong appeal to journalists, media professionals, and digital content creators to uphold the values of integrity, objectivity, and truth in their work.

“Journalism must serve the public good and must not be weaponized for personal attacks, extortion, or disinformation. Truth, dignity, and justice must prevail over campaigns of hatred and manipulation,” he concluded.
